Design Internship (September 2025)

How do we operate?

A UX Designer at Okapion is curious and seeks out the ultimate level in every project with the goal of creating unique experiences. We don't do this just to challenge ourselves, but also because our clients expect it from us.

We are eager to offer you the chance to work with us on complex interaction and design assignments, so you can learn what it means to exceed expectations. Together with a team, you'll experience their working method and then take on tasks independently.

Interning at Okapion is not only challenging, but also a lot of fun, why?

• Your internship isn't in a dull office building, but in a historical building in the heart of Rotterdam

• You will engage with wireframes and design creation

• You will witness firsthand what it's like to work with clients such as IKEA

• You will receive good and personal guidance during your internship

• You will develop rapidly, which is, of course, the ultimate purpose

• You will brainstorm with projects and help us arrive at that one unique idea.

But what kind of person are we looking for?

To start, you are a student following a course in Communication & Multimedia Design, Design for Interaction, or a similar program.

Additionally, you are:

• Curious by nature, always wondering how something can be better or different

• Passionate about your field and continuously scouring the web for new, insightful ideas

• Enthusiastic about a blank sheet because you can express all your creativity on it

• In possession of a nice portfolio that includes more than just standard school assignments

• A fan of designing complex applications

What types of internships can you do with us?

We are open to both participation internships and graduation internships.

For a graduation internship, we do not (at this moment) have a predefined assignment. You will look for a suitable client yourself while at Okapion for guidance in research, concepting, design, and testing. This way, you have a team of UX designers behind you who are daily engaged in technical and complex work processes and who want to provide you with feedback.
