Okapion, TNO, and HHDC design new health data platform: "Health Accord"

We have long known that our lives are becoming digital. This is how we pave the way for sharing our personal health data with anyone who requests it. But how do we maintain control over our privacy? With an online, cooperative platform.
Managing Health Data
Since July 1, 2020, everyone has the right to electronic access to their health information. That's great, of course. It gives you the chance to better monitor your own health. To keep control of your data. But it can also be quite complicated. When do you want to share your data? With whom? And under what conditions?
Personal and Secure
A lot depends on your situation. Do you mainly want to get fitter? Move more, eat healthier, lose weight, or keep track of a disease's progression? And are you doing this just for yourself, or do you also want to help others with your information?
This is where a new online health data platform comes in. You maintain control, but you are also part of a cooperative. In this cooperative, you make joint decisions about the management and use of health data. And you always remain the boss of your own information. By coordinating with others on when you want to share your data, you don't have to figure it all out yourself.
TNO and HHDC (Holland Health Data Cooperation) are involved with their expertise in health research. Okapion translates user insights and desires into a user-friendly, prototyped web application.
Taking Charge
The cooperative provides a framework where members jointly decide how to handle health data. You decide what happens with your information. By collaborating and sharing experiences, it becomes easier to make decisions about privacy and data usage.
The End Goal
The outcome of this project forms the basis for the next step: how do you maintain control over your digital life?
